SAUGUS — One person is in critical condition after a rollover collision on Walnut Street this morning.
A white Nissan Altima and a white 2012 Chevy Silverado pickup truck collided in the area of Birchwood Avenue shortly after 7 a.m., causing the truck to roll over on its side, said Saugus Police Lt. Ronald Giorgetti.
The driver of the truck was transported to an area hospital and was listed in critical condition. Two occupants of the other vehicle complained of pain and were evaluated by a medical team, he said.
Giorgetti declined to comment on the ages, genders, and hometowns of both drivers, citing an open investigation by Saugus Police and the State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit.
“This is an open and active investigation,” he said. “We are still reaching out to families of the parties involved.”
