BOSTON — Senate President Harriette L. Chandler (D-Worcester) announced the appointment of Sen. Brendan P. Crighton (D-Lynn) as Chairman of the Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government.
Crighton was also named Vice Chairman of the Joint Committee on Housing. Additionally, he will serve as a member of the Joint Committee on Economic Development and Emerging Technologies, the Joint Committee on Mental Health and Substance Abuse, and the Joint Committee on Transportation.
“Each of my committee assignments offers an opportunity to have a major impact on critical issues like tackling the rising cost of housing, fighting the opioid epidemic, growing our statewide economy, and creating a transportation system from the 21st century,” said Crighton. “I am honored to begin working with my colleagues on these committees to advance important legislation during the remainder of this legislative session.”
