LYNN — Audrey Shelto, president of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation Massachusetts, and Patricia Fae Ho, community leader and advocate, are the Lynn Community Health Center’s (LCHC) 7th annual women’s award honorees.
The award recognizes the importance of philanthropy and women making a difference. Shelto and Ho were recognized at LCHC’s breakfast last month. LCHC CEO Dr. Kiame Mahaniah presented the awards and the event was co-chaired by Phyllis Sagan and Magnolia Contreras.
The recognition event also focused on LCHC’s success stories, including Dr. Landrey Fagan’s account of a young woman who, addicted to heroin when she became pregnant, turned her life around with the help of the health center’s wraparound approach, and is now supporting her 3-year-old daughter.
Lynn Community Health Center began as a small mental health clinic and has grown into the largest provider of primary care in the city, serving more than 40,000 patients.
