A dozen Marblehead teens win youth ministry scholarships

MARBLEHEAD — Twelve outstanding high school seniors of Our Lady, Star of the Sea parish received $1,000 scholarships for their commitment of four years of Christian Service to various ministries in the Parish’s Youth Ministry program.

The Rev. Michael Steele, pastor, joined 11 of the 12 recipients of the Anna E. Kelly Scholarship Fund—Youth Ministry Awards, who were honored at the family Liturgy on Sunday, May 6.  

The scholarship recipients with their destination colleges, are left to right, front row:  Eliza Howells, University of Massachusetts, Amherst; Julianna Johnston, Salem State University; Kathleen Alexandrou, University of Michigan; Emma Grazado, University of Maryland; Imogene Donovan, Manhattan College; Ailish Lynch-Greenberg, University of Massachusetts, Amherst; Allison Ferris, Endicott College.

Left to right, back row:  Deacon “Joe” Whipple; John Faria, Worcester Polytechnic Institute; John Gold, Davidson College; Father Steele; Aidan Gillis, St. Anselm College; Jack Dwortz, Dartmouth College, and Mary Pagliarulo, Director of Music and Liturgy/Director of Religious Education.

Missing from the photo is Bobbi Dynice, Quinnipiac University. Star of the Sea parishioners congratulate the scholars on their achievement.
