LYNNFIELD — A 63-year-old man has been arrested after a six-month investigation into a credit card theft ring by Lynnfield and Wayland Police detectives.

Everett and Malden police departments assisted in the arrest of Carl J. Byron in Malden on Sunday.

Byron is allegedly part of a theft ring that targeted area sports clubs and school gyms, stealing victims’ credit cards and purchasing high-end Apple electronics. He is believed to have received $100,000 in fraudulently obtained merchandise.

Byron allegedly has victims in Lynnfield, Wayland, Burlington, Boston, Canton, Lexington, Arlington, Westborough, Woburn, and Providence, R.I.

He was charged with receiving stolen property, fraudulent use of a credit card, identity fraud, and 10 warrant charges out of Framingham, Woburn, Stoughton, Westborough, and Concord district courts, and Manchester, N.H.’s police department.

Lynnfield Sgt. Nick Secatore, Officer Jonathan Duzz, and Officer Steve O’Connell conducted the investigation.

Police departments in Wayland, Arlington, Westborough, Woburn, Burlington, Boston, Canton, Lexington, and Manchester, N.H., assisted in the investigation.
