SAUGUS — The town plans to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars over the next year paving local streets.
The Department of Public Works will oversee pavement milling, overlay paving, and roadway reclamation on various main and side roadways throughout town.
Work is expected to begin in July and conclude by the end of September. Parking will be limited in work zones during construction work, and traffic detours will be established as required to allow for the work to begin.
Alvah, Innis, and Mader streets, Pleasant Avenue, Howard Farm Lane, and portions of Elm, Walnut and Plymouth streets, Morris Place, and Williams, Fairmount, and Adams avenues will be repaved throughout the year.
“Ensuring the functionality and safety of the town’s roadways is always of critical importance,” said Town Manager Scott Crabtree in a statement. “Safe roadways improve traffic flow and reduce congestion and accidents, which will benefit town residents and visitors every day, making it easier for everyone to get to where they need to be.”
