NAHANT — A single-family home is uninhabitable after the town’s fire chief said lightning struck
it during Monday morning’s storm.
The male occupant of 105 Flash Road fled the house unharmed shortly after 2 a.m. during the
heavy rain and thunder storm. An alarm activation followed by a telephone call brought Nahant
firefighters to the 2 1⁄2 story house.
Fire Chief Michael Feinberg said firefighters found smoke coming from the attic eaves and fire in
the walls, ceiling and attic. The fire commander on the scene called a second alarm bringing
Lynn, Swampscott, Marblehead and Salem fire crews to the scene.
Feinberg the home’s second floor and attic sustained significant damage. The fire was declared
