NAHANT — Forty Steps Dance will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a golf outing and fundraiser at the Nahant Golf Club on Saturday.
The premier dance company was founded in 1992 by Artistic Director and Nahant resident Sallee Slagle. They present professional quality performances and educational workshops for all ages and abilities, according to their website. The dance troupe has performed throughout the Boston area and has done a number of shows abroad over the last two decades.
Forty Steps Dance is continuing their celebration this weekend from 2-5 p.m., tee-off beginning at 3 p.m., followed by cocktails and a buffet dinner from 5-8 p.m. at Seasons, the golf club’s restaurant. During the daytime golf outing, guests will watch pop-up performances from the dance company right on the golf course.
During the evening celebration at the restaurant, guests will enjoy two signature performances of Forty Steps Dance numbers and participate in a silent auction with an array of local prizes. The cost is $75 per person for nine-hole golf, dinner, and cocktails or $45 per person for just dinner and cocktails. Those unable to attend the two-part event are encouraged to sponsor a golfer, with all proceeds going directly to the non-profit dance company.
