Revere residents no longer need a sticker, bulk item trash-pickups can now be scheduled online

REVERE — Residents no longer need a sticker to get rid of their grandmother’s hand-me-down couch or the mattress they’ve used since college.

Traditionally, city ordinance would require them to visit the Inspectional Service Department during City Hall hours to schedule a trash pick-up and pick up a sticker before putting their stuff on the curb.

Pickups can now be scheduled online at www.revere.org/permitting. After creating an account, navigate to “apply for a permit” with the type “bulk item pickup.” After completing the application, residents will receive an email with a date and time the items will be picked up.

Residents who do not have access to a computer or smartphone can be submitted in person at Inspectional Service’s computer kiosk located on 24R Broadway. The Mayor’s 311 constituent services is ready to answer any questions residents may have as the city transitions to the stickerless program.

Applications must be completed by 2 p.m. the day before a Tuesday through Friday pickup, or 10 a.m. on Friday for a Monday pickup. Otherwise, pickup will be scheduled for the following week.

There is a senior citizen discount for any properties where the head of household is an eligible senior. The name and age of the eligible senior is required on the application.

If items are put out that are different than what was listed in the application, they will not be picked up.

If someone other than the trash company takes the item, the city will not provide a refund.

If the items are not put out on the curb, the city will be notified, and the pickup will need to be rescheduled.
