LYNN — Two men were arrested for allegedly breaking into a Magner Road home early Saturday morning.

Christopher Hoyt, 31, of Peabody, was arrested and charged with illegal possession of prescription drugs and trespassing.

Elijah Declet, 21, of Haverhill, was arrested and charged with trespassing and on warrants out of Haverhill, with charges of assault to murder, carrying a loaded firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and malicious destruction to a motor vehicle.

Police responded to 11 Magner Road shortly after 1 a.m. on a reported break-in. A woman told police that the downstairs window of her home had been smashed and she could hear voices outside her residence, Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown said.

The woman stayed on the phone with police until officers arrived. Police saw the broken window and found a large rock inside, but determined that the suspects fled the home before their arrival and that entry was not gained, Brown said.

The two suspects were found nearby and were subsequently arrested.
