REVERE — Police are warning residents that a group of people identifying themselves as paving contractors and approaching residents and offering to pave their driveways with leftover asphalt from a city job are not credible.
The individuals have reportedly offered to use “leftover asphalt” at a discounted price after sidewalk work in the area was completed, according to a Facebook post from the Revere Police Department.
“This is a scam,” police wrote in the post. “Do not accept any such offer. No contractor hired by the City of Revere is allowed to offer such work.”
Anyone who is approached and offered paving work with leftover asphalt are asked to contact the Revere Police Department immediately.
