NAHANT — Short Beach reopened shortly after noon on Thursday after being closed most of the week.
Regular testing turned up high bacteria levels on the beach on Tuesday, said Nahant Emergency Management director Michael Halley.
“When they did the test on it the bacteria was very high,” he said. “To my knowledge nobody has gotten sick.”
In a tweet from the Nahant Police Department, residents were informed that the bacteria “is not red tide.”
All other beaches in Nahant remained open and unaffected.
