LYNN — A lost dog was found roaming the streets near Goldfish Pond after the drastic rainstorm on Sunday. Lynn Police are seeking assistance in finding the owner.

A woman stopped her car after witnessing a soaking wet dog walking by itself, according to Lt. Michael Kmiec. The woman brought the dog to the Lynn Police Department at 5:26 p.m. after noticing the animal had no collar or nametag.

“We didn’t have the means to care for the dog,” said Kmiec. “The woman who found it arranged for a friend of hers to care for the dog.”

The dog appeared to have been out on the streets for a long period of time, according to Kmiec. The Lynn Police uploaded a photo of the dog to their Facebook account in hopes that residents would be able to help find the owner. Kmiec said many viewers in the comments section mentioned reportedly knowing the owner and describing them as irresponsible.

The dog was found with no injuries. If anyone has any information regarding the dog or its owner, Lynn Police asks them to call 781-595-2000.
