NAHANT — Short Beach is closed again because of high levels of bacteria.
The beach was closed after regular testing turned up high bacteria levels around 10 a.m. Monday, said Nahant Emergency Management Director Michael Halley.
This is not the first time this summer the beach has been closed.
It reopened Aug. 9 after use of the property was prohibited for a few days.
In a tweet earlier in the month from the Nahant Police Department, residents were informed that the bacteria βis not red tide.β
All other beaches in Nahant remained open and unaffected.
