SAUGUS — Saugus Police are looking for a man who robbed a Route 1 gas station with a stun gun Thursday night.

A 911 caller reported she was robbed by a man at Sunoco Gas Station at 700 Broadway just before 10 p.m., said Interim Chief Ronald Giorgetti.

“The victim indicated that she was threatened with an electronic stun gun or a Taser,” said Giorgetti. “The male suspect fled the location on foot, northbound on Route 1.”

The suspect, who made off with cash, is described as a white male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing baggy clothing, including a red jacket and black sweatshirt.

Giorgetti declined to comment on the amount of money stolen.

“If anybody saw anyone fitting that description or any suspicious activity in the area of 700 Broadway at approximately 10 p.m., they are asked to call 781-941-1183,” said Giorgetti. “This is still an open and active investigation.”
