NEC Golf all-stars, awards announced

The Northeastern Conference golf awards for the 2018 season were announced Thursday evening. At Wednesday’s NEC Open, it was Gloucester that brought home the team award thanks to the Fishermen duo of Colby Mitchell and Robby Horne. The NEC Open Individual co-champs were Brendan Locke (Marblehead) and Max Pegnato (Swampscott).

In the NEC North, Danvers was the champion, Bob Green (Marblehead) was named coach of the year, Jared Mscisz (Danvers) earned player of the year and Peabody took home the sportsmanship award.

The North All-Conference teams includes Jared Mscisz, Cam Morrison, Ian Paskowski sand Aaron Paskowski (Danvers), Colby Mitchell (Gloucester), Brendan Locke (Marblehead), Brayden Clarke (Beverly), Ryan Graciale (Swampscott) and Aidan O’Donovan (Somerville).

The North All-Stars are Jack Thibodeau, Mike Papamechail and Andrew Metivier (Danvers),
Ben Weed and Ben Brennan (Marblehead), Max Pegnato, Jake Goldman and Aiden Graciale (Swampscott), Amy McCaffery and Matt Plozy (Beverly), Ryan Fera (Peabody), Felix Brody (Somerville) and James Riccardi (Medford).
In the NEC South, Salem brought home three awards. The Witches were South champion, coach Tom Doyle was named coach of the year and Tommy Harrington earned player of the year. Malden won the sportsmanship award.

The South All-Conference team includes Tommy Harrington, Ethan Doyle, Nick Angeramo and Bobby Jellison (Salem), Brendan Lannon (Classical), Jack Sicurella (Winthrop), Matt Cravotta (Revere), Jonathan Fitzgerald (Everett) and Paul Papageorgiou (English).

The South All-Stars are Troy Zipper, Casey Williamson (Salem),Brett Bucklin and Tim Nerich (Classical), Andrew Dimento and Colby Dassau (Winthrop), Ronnie DiBiaso and Peter Watts (Saugus), Zach Rufo (Malden), Dante Raffa (Revere), Jared Corbett (Everett) and Nathan Whitcomb (English).

The conference meet was held Wednesday at Olde Salem Greens. Marblehead’s Brendan Locke and Swampscott’s Max Pegnato each shot a score of 75 to tie for medalist honors. Other solid performances came from Salem’s Tommy Harrington (76), Swampscott’s Ryan Graciale (78), Danvers’ Jared Mscisz (78), Danvers’ Cam Morrison (80), Saugus’ Joe Cross (80), Peabody’s Connor McCarron (83), Salem’s Ethan Doyle (83), English’s Paul Papageorgiou (85), Classical’s Brendan Lannon (98), Classical’s Brett Bucklin (99) and English’s Nathan Whitcomb (109).
