Northeastern Conference soccer all-stars announced

The Northeastern Conference named its boys and girls soccer all-stars and award winners Friday afternoon, and Peabody’s Johnny Alves took home boys North co-MVP honors along with Milton Castro of Somerville. Peabody coach Stan McKeen took home Coach of the Year honors, while Beverly was given the sportsmanship award.

Alves was also named to the North All-Conference team along with teammate Mike Tansey. Other members of the North All-Conference team were Castro, Fernando Guerra and Alexis Figueroa (Somerville), Kevin Jordan (Danvers), Aaron Vaz and Kendy Prince (Medford), Bryce Visnick (Beverly), Kevin Coffey (Swampscott) and Damir Omerovic and Harry Paiva (Revere).

The boys South MVP was Gloucester’s Anthony Suazo, and the Fishermen also won the sportsmanship award. Lynn Classical’s Eric Moreno Jr. was named Coach of the Year.

Suazo and teammate Elijah Elliot were named to the South All-Conference team, while Classical had three representatives in Alex Ixlaj, Daniel Cortes and Gabriel Novoa. Also named to the South All-Conference team were Edward Santos and Quinn Galante-Barrett (Salem), Waldir Yacsavika and Jefferson Malachie (Malden), Andydavens Elysee and Henrique Da Silva (Everett) and Jaylin Cordes (Winthrop).

On the girls side, Saugus’ Allison LeBlanc was named the South MVP. Revere coach Megan O’Donnell was named Coach of the Year in the South, while the Patriots won the sportsmanship award.

LeBlanc and Kiley Ronan represented the Sachems on the South All-Conference team. Also named to the team were Fatima Girdia and Julia Jordan (Classical), Melissa Zayas (English), Maura Dorr and Julia Marcoccio (Winthrop), Beatriz Deoliveira Segato, Darcy Cummings and Jill Tramondozzi (Malden), Carolina Carvalho-Bettero (Revere) and Isabella Wronkowski (Salem).

The girls North MVP was Danvers’ Lauren Clement, while Falcons coach Jimmy Hinchion was named Coach of the Year. Medford was given the sportsmanship award.

Clement, Olivia Anderson and Arianna Bezanson were named to the South All-Conference team from Danvers. Also named to the South All-Conference team were Haley Bernhardt and MacKenzie Kearny (Swampscott), Anna Edson, Katelyn Singer and Jordan Butters (Beverly), Aja Alimonte (Peabody), Rachael Saulnier (Marblehead) Jill Hutchinson (Somerville) and Lyndsey Martins (Medford).
