NAHANT — Two firefighters were sworn in as members of the Nahant Fire Department last week.
Firefighter Matthew Canty was sworn in as a full-time firefighter on Thursday, Nov. 8. He had previously served the community as a call firefighter. He assumed that role in 2013, according to a statement from Fire Chief Michael Feinberg.
Firefighter James Lowe, who returned from a two-year leave, was also sworn in and has officially resumed his role with the Nahant Fire Department as a call firefighter. He first worked with the department from 2013-2016.
“I’m excited to see Firefighter Lowe return, and to see Firefighter Canty continue to grow in his role with the Nahant Fire Department,” said Feinberg. “Their combined experience will no doubt be an asset for the whole community, and I’m confident they’ll make immediate contributions.”
