NAHANT — The Nahant Fire Department completed a specialized pump training to sharpen their skills.
Earlier this month, firefighters participated in the exercise to enhance proficiency with fire engine pumps, protect department equipment, and make their response to fires more efficient, said chief Michael Feinberg in a statement.
The training was provided by the Fire Department Support Systems.
“This program will ultimately be a great benefit to our department and our community,” said Feinberg. “Our firefighters will ultimately be more prepared to respond during emergency situations and will have the expertise they need to act quickly when faced with working fires.”
As part of the training, firefighters were given 45 minutes to troubleshoot hands-on scenarios that could arise in a real-world setting in order to insure they’re prepared to overcome problems that may arise.
