LYNN — Two men were arrested following a shooting at Planet Fitness on Saturday afternoon.
Jahkeal Browne, 19, of Roslindale, and Kymauri Jean-Lestin, 19, of Lynn, were each charged with armed assault to murder, carrying a loaded firearm weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, unlawful possession of ammo without a firearm identification card and Class B drug trafficking.
Police responded to the Boston Street gym after an off-duty officer heard several shots fired shortly after 1 p.m. The officer saw two suspects leaving the area and followed them until backup arrived, Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
Nobody was injured in the shooting. Police recovered a firearm, ammunition and approximately 80 grams of crack cocaine, Kmiec said.
