The Fashion Monger: Stylin’ with Macy’s personal stylist

November 28, 2018 by menervia-akers

The holidays are all about glamour.  To help you achieve holiday glam this season, The Fashion Monger has teamed with Penny Freddura, the “My Stylist” at Macy’s Northshore Mall store in Peabody. Whether you favor a sophisticated look with a bit of traditional glam or you simply want to amp up your glam, Macy’s “My Stylist” and The Fashion Monger can help to make your style timeless, daring and edgy.

This season is all about metallics, sparkles, velvet, sequins, feathers and the one-shoulder dress and jumpsuit. We rounded up top fashion brands like BCBG Maxazria, I.N.C. International Concepts, Rachel Roy, BCX clothing and Michael Kors, pairing outfits with dazzling shoes and accessories. Replace the LBD with this year’s must-have comfortable formal jumpsuit, elegant in black with rhinestone cuff embellishments and sheer cut-out sleeves. Whatever you do, ditch the everyday overcoat. Complement your look by draping your shoulders with a BCX Capelet or faux fur BCBG Capelet.

Fellas can get that inspired celebrity style, too, with a fashion-forward must-have suit or tux. I.N.C. International Concepts menswear collection is spectacular.

Celebrate in style. Even dress your festive holiday table in glam!  Bring an enchanting winter wonderland to the table. Use such decorative accents as sparkling pine cones, Santa figurines  and reindeer to accessorize as a centerpiece. Add glitz and glam to your tablescape by layering Hotel Collection Marble dinnerware onto gold sparkling metallic textural chargers, with snowflake napkin rings and gray napkins with stylish reindeer as an accent. For a New Year’s tablescape, swap out the Santa figurine for mini-trees, to maximize the gray napkins; lay napkin across the dinner plate and simply tuck under the plate.

MACY’S “MY STYLIST” SERVICES:

Need style help?  “My Stylist” Penny Freddura can guide you through it all. Freddura lives in Revere with her husband, Peter, and 3-year-old Maltese, Sam. In 1961, at the ripe old age of 5, she was crowned Ms. Point of Pines. The 1975 Revere High grad started her retail career as counter manager for Prescriptives cosmetics in Filene’s downtown Boston store. Four months later she was recruited by the fine jewelry department, which she managed for 20 years, in Peabody, Boston, and Braintree. In the Boston store she received the Manager of the Year honor. During her career at Macy’s, she’s managed the following departments: shoes, handbags, lingerie, dresses, suits, coats, swim, men’s collections and young men’s. She’s been Macy’s Peabody “My Stylist,” her dream job, for 11 months.

Enjoy the free star treatment; feel like a celebrity. To schedule an appointment with Penny, call 978-531-3800 x2355 or email: [email protected].
