The Northeast Arc, a not-for-profit organization that helps children and adults with disabilities become full participants in the community, has elected Dr. Patrick Tutwiler to its Board of Directors.
Tutwiler is the Superintendent of Schools at Lynn Public Schools. He has spent his career in education with roles increasing in responsibility in Westford, Wayland, Boston, and Lynn. While much of the work has been focused on reading, writing, and arithmetic, Tutwiler has placed high emphasis on equity and inclusion in the school environment and establishing and maintaining meaningful community partnerships.
“The more I have learned about the life-changing work the Northeast Arc does every day, the more impressed I have become,” said Tutwiler. “I look forward to serving on the Northeast Arc board to help to continue to change the lives of people with disabilities and their families.”
“We are very happy that Patrick has joined the board and look forward his unique perspective as a well-respected leader and educator,” said Darcy Immerman, Board Chair, Northeast Arc.
Tutwiler earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross, a Master of Education degree from Harvard University Graduate School of Education, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Boston College.
