REVERE — Plans for a new waterfront restaurant are cooking.

Owners John and Michael Aldi are expected to open the bar and grill at the Gate Residential apartment complex under construction at 500 Ocean Ave.

They operate The ReelHouse in East Boston, Pier 6 in Charlestown, Mija Cantina & Tequila Bar in Faneuil Hall, and two restaurants at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.

Co-owner John Aldi said they haven’t decided on a name for the 5,000-square-foot eatery expected to open next summer.

“For now, we’re calling it 500 Ocean,” he said.

They chose the Revere location, he said, because it offers ocean views and parking.

“Revere Beach is a one-of-a-kind location and one of the most storied beaches in America and this restaurant and craft bar will offer customers great dining in a beautiful setting,” he said. “We think the space will be a great new amenity that will attract residents and individuals throughout the area.”

Plans for the business include outdoor seating and an oceanfront dining experience. It will be accessible from the MBTA Blue Line and residents along Revere Beach, including Gate’s 305- and 195-unit communities.

Mayor Brian Arrigo said the addition of this new restaurant adds to the growing economic momentum underway in the city. Three new waterfront hotels and a residential building are being constructed.

He called it another indication of the tremendous economic growth underway in the city, and the growing recognition of all Revere has to offer.

“We can’t wait for Revere residents and visitors to have access to this new dining experience,” said Arrigo in a statement. “The location, the ease of transit, and natural beauty of our waterway really can’t be matched.”
