Item Santa: A hard-working family needs your help this holiday season

Bridget Turcotte

December 18, 2018 by Bridget Turcotte

A therapist with Aspire Developmental Services has been working with a family she believes is deserving of some assistance this holiday season.

The family has two girls, one 7 years old and the other almost 2 years old. For a few years, the family has spent time trying to get caught up with finances. They don’t have extra money in their budget to buy toys and other things that are not completely necessary for their girls.

“I have been working with this family for many years. They are a hard-working family. The money they make goes towards paying their bills, rent, and providing their family with necessities,” the therapist wrote in a letter to Item Santa, on letterhead from Aspire.

On behalf of the family, the therapist is hoping Item Santa can help pay for gifts or jackets for the children.

To contribute online, go to www.itemsanta.org, where you can make a donation via credit card.

Now in its 52nd year, the Item Santa fund helps make Christmas brighter for those in need. All donations are listed in Item print editions through the month of December and into 2019, along with a brief message from each donor, if desired.
Those interested in signing up to collect at Santa Island or any business willing to sell stockings should contact David Solimine Sr. or Joel Solimine at 781-595-1492.
NOTE: The application period for aid from Item Santa has closed and the Item does not process applicants. All questions about the program and distribution of gifts should be directed to the Salvation Army at 781-598-0673.
