The Bishop Fenwick girls hockey team has found its groove. Fenwick earned its third consecutive victory with a 3-0 win at Auburn Saturday afternoon at Horgan Skating Arena.

Senior defenseman Jill Mattucci and senior forward Lexi McNeil paced the offense with one goal and one assist apiece. Senior forward Brennah Satterfield scored one goal and sophomore forward Gabby Davern dished two assists.

Junior goalie Daphne Jalbert earned her first shutout win with 16 saves.

“Daphne has been outstanding the past three games,” Fenwick coach Doug Anderson said. “She only had 16 saves tonight, which was a credit to the forwards and the defense. We’re really excited for her. She’s been solid for us.”

Also playing well were sophomore defenseman Allison Countie and freshmen defensemen Grace Morey, Catherine Salvo and Lauren Diranian.

“We’ve played them six years now and it’s the first time we’ve beaten them at their place,” Anderson said. “We beat them last year to make the tournament, by one goal. We kept a little momentum going with wins over Wilmington, at Medford and at Auburn.”

The Crusaders are back on the ice Wednesday when they take on St. Peter Marian in the first round of the St. Joseph Prep Christmas Classic at Warrior Ice Arena.

GIRLS HOCKEY

St. Mary’s 4, Matignon 1

The Spartans (4-0) are still undefeated. Codi Butt scored two goals. Mady Hentosh and Jenna Chaplain each scored once. Goalie Lauren Vaccaro made 17 saves.

“Matignon was a tough, physical team that plays very aggressive,” Spartans coach Frank Pagliuca said. “We were able to capitalize on our special team opportunities and that was eventually the difference.”

St. Mary’s hosts Lincoln-Sudbury in a non-conference tilt Saturday night (7:20).

Peabody 4, Ursuline 3

The Tanners improved to 3-1-1 and visit Beverly Wednesday afternoon (4) at Bourque Arena. Sammie Mirasolo, Jen Flynn, Maria Pierce and Jess Roberts each scored one goal. Goalie Jeny Collins earned the win in net.

BOYS HOCKEY

St. Mary’s 6, Lowell Catholic 0

The Spartans (4-0) remain undefeated. Goals were scored by Nick Napolitano (two), Colin Reddy (two), Christian Moran and Max Giardina.

Goalie Joe Purtell had his first shutout in a St. Mary’s uniform with 23 saves.

“This was a very talented team we played against,” Spartans coach Mark Lee said. “It was our best game of the season. It was three full periods of St. Mary’s hockey. We limited them in scoring opportunities. The score sounds like it was an easy blowout, it wasn’t. Finally we’re executing the way we should for three periods.”

St. Mary’s takes on Austin Prep Thursday (5) in the Christie Serino Christmas Classic at Malden’s Valley Forum.

“The Serino Tournament’s always one of the best in the state as far as competition, dealing with four great teams,” Lee said. “We were the first team last year to win it other than Malden Catholic. We need to defend our crown against some of the top opponents in the state. We just have to play St. Mary’s hockey.”

Haverhill 6, Swampscott 1

Junior forward Drew Olivieri scored Swampscott’s lone goal on an assist from junior forward Conor Donovan. Swampscott (2-2) visits Lynn Wednesday evening (6).

St. John’s 6, Framingham 0

The Eagles grabbed their second consecutive shutout win. Freshman goalie Jackson Irving made 16 saves. Ned Malolepszy scored two goals. Matt Taylor, Evan Moore, Zach McKenelley and Ryan Bradley each scored one goal. St. John’s (2-1) hosts BC High Thursday (5:20) in the Pete Frates Winter Classic.

WRESTLING

St. John’s 64, Marshfield 18

St. John’s 58, Bristol-Agricultural 10

St. John’s 72, Barnstable 6
