Complaints
Fire Chief Gilliland reported at 8 a.m. on Tuesday that the Salem Harbormaster Bill McHugh stated there will be an illuminated ship moored off the coast of Marblehead. McHugh stated when this happens, a lot of calls often come in from people thinking there is a fire on Children’s Island and that the ship won’t look like a typical ship, which also adds to the confusion about the lights.
A caller reported at 12:35 p.m. on Tuesday that his lights were cut overnight on Ratlin Road.
A caller reported at 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday that there was a black BMW sedan that was parked on Stonybrook Road for four days and three nights and only received one ticket. The caller stated they would like more overnight enforcement in the area.
A caller reported there was a man sitting on the sidewalk near Pleasant Street and Watson Street at 6:12 p.m. on Tuesday. They stated the man was in his 70s, was wearing a coat and hat, and didn’t look well. Responding officers arrived and transported the male.
A caller reported fireworks in the area of Winthrop Avenue and Conant Road at 7:24 p.m. on Tuesday. Responding officers said they found nothing showing.
A caller reported four loud bangs near Jersey Street but was unsure of exactly where they were coming from. Responding officers arrived and said it was all quiet.

Michael Corey Fortin, 26, of 18 Ash St., Lowell 65 Main St., Apt. 305, was arrested on Tuesday at 10:45 p.m. and charged with a probation violation. Officer reports defendant is in custody.
Guy L. Holcombe, 31, of 22 Pulaski St., Apt. D11, was arrested at 124 Foster and 163 Washington streets on Wednesday at 1:11 a.m. after being waved down by a party and charged with disorderly conduct and destruction of property in excess of $1,200.

Matthew E. Cafarelli, 43, of 7 Perley Ave. was summoned on Tuesday at 11:21 a.m. following a dispute with his sister, see below, and charged with assault and battery on a household member.

On Wednesday at 3:15 a.m. a report of a struck coyote at 64 Pulaski St. and 12 Dobbs Road. Officer reports animal was put down and the Department of Public Works was called to retrieve the animal.

A caller reported a man wearing a backpack running through backyards and screaming. The man voluntarily went to Melrose Wakefield Hospital.

A report of credit card fraud at 8:01 a.m. Monday at Hockeytown USA at 953 Broadway. A man walked into the police station to report his debit card was stolen out of his vehicle at Hockeytown the previous night. Fraudulent charges were subsequently made at businesses in town.
