LYNN — The Lynn Museum & Historical Society hosts Lynn Black History Story Share on Saturday, March 9, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the museum, 590 Washington St.
The share is a free community event centered around documenting black history in Lynn for preserving family photos and stories through digital technology.
Anyone with a connection to the black community in Lynn is encouraged to attend and bring five items such as photos, event flyers, letters, posters and objects that tell a family story.
The museum will have people on hand to scan photographs; take photos of objects and record family stories. All photocopies and recordings will be added to the museum’s digital collection.
The share’s goal is to preserve history of the black experience in Lynn and have a collection of recordings and photographed and scanned items for possible inclusion in the museum’s upcoming exhibit, “Untold Stories: A History of Black People in Lynn.”
