PEABODY — Police are thanking the public for tips leading to the capture of teenagers who taped themselves throwing furniture over a second floor railing at the Northshore Mall last weekend.
“Social media sometimes drives this type of behavior, but it also can result in their demise because there are good folks… paying attention and take offense to this senseless behavior,” the Peabody Police Department wrote on their Facebook page.
The six second video posted on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Num3z1qURuo
shows two teenage boys, one with a black hoodie, and the other in a black jacket and knit hat, laughing as they tossed the gray upholstered chair over the railing.
As a result of the calls, charges are pending for the teens who were not named because they are juveniles. The investigation began Saturday night when the culprits posted their action on social media.
“Fortunately, nobody was hurt by the acts of this group,” the police wrote. “They were crucified in the court of public opinion, and will fare no better at Juvenile Court, but the court of mom and dad is what we bet they fear the most. And again, our thanks to the good folks.”
