SAUGUS — Two new officers have joined the Saugus Police Department. Town Manager Scott Crabtree and interim Police Chief Ronald Giorgetti appointed officers Jenna Loverme and Vince Johnston.
The officers were sworn into their new roles on Monday, Feb. 25 at Saugus Town Hall, with members of the department, Town Hall staff, family, and friends in attendance to show their support.
“I am proud to appoint Officers Loverme and Johnston to the Saugus Police Department,” said Crabtree. “These officers’ extensive training and commitment to public safety will be a great asset to the town, and I wish them the best success in their new roles.” Both officers graduated from the Police Academy on Friday, Feb. 22.
Loverme, of Saugus, previously worked as a dispatcher for the department from 2015 to 2018. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Emerson College.
Johnston, of Saugus, served as a medic in the United States Air Force from 2011 to 2015 He holds a degree in criminal justice from the University of Massachusetts Boston.
“I am happy to welcome Officers Loverme and Johnston to the Saugus Police Department,” said Giorgetti. “Both officers worked incredibly hard at the Police Academy, and they are eager to begin their career protecting and serving the citizens of Saugus.”
