WAKEFIELD — From left, Elaine Manfredi, AVP, senior mortgage consultant; Elaine Foley, senior mortgage consultant; Jennie Terry, Marketing & Social Media manager; Joanne McMath, Wakefield resident and Habitat for Humanity volunteer; Lois Hayward, VP, chief technology officer and branch operations; and Elaine Guaetta, AVP, branch manager, took part in the Wakefield Co-operative Bank Home Expo on March 30 at the Americal Civic Center in Wakefield.
The expo featured local businesses specializing in home renovation, improvement, and design. In lieu of the typical vendor participation fee, local businesses taking part in the expo were asked to donate a product or service to the “Habitat for Humanity Home-Reno Raffle Baskets.” All raffle ticket proceeds went directly to Habitat for Humanity – North Shore. The generous business donations resulted in three baskets valued at more than $4,000 each and a donation of more than $300 to Habitat for Humanity – North Shore.
“We envisioned our first home expo as a way to really show how important we believe it is to support local businesses and give back to the communities in which we live and work,” Terry said. “Our goal was to provide a venue for small businesses to come together in one space to showcase their services and help the community put real live faces to business names they may have heard about. We’re already looking forward to next year.
“Right in line with the expo ‘theme’ of home renovation and improvement, Habitat for Humanity was a perfect fit given all the incredible work they do in providing clean, safe, affordable housing to nearby families and we so appreciate Wakefield resident and Habitat for Humanity – North Shore volunteer Joanne McMath for spending the day with us.”
The bank would like to thank the community and the following businesses for their support: 128 Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric; Addario’s Services; Blinds R Us; Boston Kitchen; Clever Girl Organizing; ColorWorks; Designer Lawn Sprinkler; Duffy Floors; Empire 1 Home Improvements; HomeQuest Consultants; HomeWorks Energy; Kidcasso Art Studio; LCM Plus Landscaping; McGuire Kitchen + Bath; Molly Booth Interiors; Pride Self Storage; Ralph Burke Roofing; Sheila Foley, Live Painter; The Sweetbay Shop; Velvet Green Organic Lawn Care; Vibe Food Truck; Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light; Wakefield Fire Department; and Yankee Pest Control.
