LYNN — An 18-year-old Lynn man was shot in the leg during an apparent robbery attempt on Estes Street Sunday night, police said.
“He wasn’t very forthcoming with information, but he stated that he was approached by some people who attempted to rob him,” Lynn Police Lt. Michael Kmiec said.
It’s unclear if the victim was robbed of anything during the incident. He was taken to Salem Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Kmiec said.
Lynn Police responded to 29 Estes St. shortly after 10 p.m. on a report of multiple shots fired. Witnesses said they heard some type of disturbance, but didn’t see what was going on, Kmiec said.
A shell casing and firearm was recovered at the scene. The shell casing matched the gun, but it was unclear who the weapon belonged to, Kmiec said.
No arrests have been made and the incident is under investigation, Kmiec said.
The shooting was the second that occurred on Sunday. Shortly before 1 a.m., a 19-year-old Boston woman was shot in the hand during a drive-by shooting following a verbal dispute on Warren Street.
