Swampscott Public Library to host robotics workshop

report

April 29, 2019 by report

SWAMPSCOTT — Citizens are invited to attend a workshop held by retired teacher Ed Robinson at the Swampscott Public Library, where they will learn how to create small robots using a Hummingbird Robotics Kit and a Micro:bit.

The workshop, part of the library’s “Hands On” Tech Series, will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m.

Participants will learn how to make a robot, character or artwork that moves, turns, flashes lights or responds to sensors, all determined by how it’s programmed using the Snap! programming language.

The program is for students and adults ages 12 and up. Participants may bring their own Micro:bit, but there will also be a few available to borrow for the program.

To participate, register at www.swampscottlibrary.org or call the library at 781-596-8867 ext. 3304.
