The Lynn Tech baseball team picked up a 6-2 win over Commonwealth Athletic Conference opponent Mystic Valley Thursday at Fraser Field.
Tigers pitcher Jhoan Ortega brought his A-game to this one. Ortega threw seven innings and surrendered just three hits.
Nathan Whitcomb called a solid game behind the plate. Jared Moore and Bryce Whitcomb carried Tech’s offense.
“It was a great game and a great conference win,” Tech coach Rich Germano said.
The Tigers improved to 3-4, 2-0 in CAC play. Tech hosts Greater Lawrence Tuesday (4).
SOFTBALL
Peabody 7, Everett 5 (F/8)
Gina Terrazzano came through with the game-winning hit for the Tanners, smacking a RBI double in the eighth. Terrazzano went 1-for-4 with three RBI in the victory.
Michaela Rooney went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI, Kristina Rossignoll went 2-for-4 with one RBI and one stolen base and Julianna Cimino went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Emma Bloom (1-for-4) and Mackenzie Marmion (1-for-2) also had hits in the win.
Tianna Dawe had another great all-around game, tossing all eight innings in the circle with 13 strikeouts and going 2-for-4 with a double at the plate.
BOYS LACROSSE
Marblehead 16, Danvers 8
The Magicians improved to 8-2 on the season. Will Shull highlighted the offense with four goals and two assists. Sam Thompson, Loch Sheridan and Adam Zamansky scored three goals each. Justin DiTomaso scored five goals for the Falcons (8-2).
Fenwick 16, Matingon 0
Diego Alvarez-Segee paced the Crusaders (9-2) with four goals and three assists. Also scoring for Fenwick were Nico Pasciuto (two goals), Nick Muzi (two), Stefano Fabiano (three), Derek DelVecchio (two), Robby Favuzza (one), Kobe Estes (one) and Nick Sasso (one). Fabiano, who also dished two assists, grabbed his 100th career point in the victory.
Peabody 13, Gloucester 4
Connor McCarron’s four goals and three assists paced the offense for Peabody, while Trevor Smith added three goals and one assist. Jack Houlden had two goals and one assist, Nick Patturelli scored two goals, Ryan Fera and Keenan Madden had one goal each had Colby Therrien had one assist. Goalie Austin Leggett had 11 saves, while Patrick Russo won 13 of 19 faceoffs.
St. John’s Prep 8, BC High 6
Jake Surette and Luke Brennan led the way with two goals and one assist each, while Pat Keefe added one goal and one assist. Sean Gilbert, Michael Ott and Brian Souza each had one goal, while goalie Alex Kreher had eight saves. Craig Yannone won 10 of 12 faceoffs, while Graham Tyson went 4-for-4 in the circle.
The Eagles (10-3) travel to Catholic Conference rival Xaverian Monday (7).
Beverly 9, Swampscott 2
Vincent Palmer led the way for Swampscott with one goal and one assist, while Justin DeSalvo had one goal and Zach Pierce had one assist. Goalie Tim Perlin had 14 saves in the loss.
The Beverly lacrosse team paid tribute to former Swampscott player Max Carbone, who passed away last month, by wearing a No. 19 sticker on their helmets and making a donation to the Max Carbone Scholarship Fund.
Revere 11, Salem 6
The Patriots improved to 8-1 with the victory.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Fenwick 20, Matignon 3
Brynn Bertucci had four goals and two assists to lead the way for Fenwick, while Cailyn Wesley was right behind with three goals and two assists. Karina Gyllenhaal added three goals and one assist, while Madison Woods had two goals. Jenna Durkin, Julia Barnes and Mary D’Entremont all played well defensively.

Swampscott 98, Saugus 34
The Big Blue had three double-winners in Joseph Varghese, Jackson Brigham and Najique Henry. Varghese took first in the high jump (5 feet, 6 inches) and the 110 hurdles (16.5 seconds), Brigham won the shot put (44-3) and the discus (126-8) and Henry placed first in the 100 (11.6) and the 200 (23.8). Other winners for Swampscott were Jake Culliton in the javelin (122-7), Henna Domain in the 400 (56.4), Dylan Brawley in the 800 (2:19.2) Reece Klusza in the one-mile (5:06.7) and Michael Ferragamo in the two-mile (11:44.5).
The lone winner for Saugus was Kenny Okoye, who won both the long jump (18-10) and the triple jump (42-6 1/2).
Gloucester 77, Winthrop 55
Winthrop got wins from Pietro Vogogna in the high jump (5-0), Pat Teixiera in the shot put (33-11), Chris Cappuccio in the 100 (12.5), Austin Crotty in the 200 (28.1) and Patrick Haskell in the 400 (57.3).

Revere’s winners were Rayan Riazi in the discus (102-5) and the 110 hurdles (17.7), Camron Ventura in the triple jump (35-8 1/2) and the 200 (24.9), Fraynel Del Rosario in the high jump (5-0), Jaryd Benson in the shot put (40-1), Ryan Doucette in the javelin (142-6), Michael Adolphus in the 400 hurdles (1:05.7), Augusto Goncalves in the 400 (55.9), Jonathan Nushi in the 800 (2:15.4), Christian Madrid in the one-mile (5:03.4) and Fabio Tran in the two-mile (11:39.6).
English’s wins both came from Jeriel Garcia, who won both the long jump (19-10) and the 100 (11.6).

Swampscott 89, Saugus 42
Swampscott had four double-winners in the victory, with Clara Espaillat, Charlotte Andrews, Abigail Harper and Ashley Marston each winning multiple events. Andrews won the high jump (4-10) and the 100 hurdles (17.4), Espaillat won the shot put (32-10) and the discus (74-0), Harper won the long jump (15-11) and the 100 (13.2) and Marston won the 800 (2:41.8) and the two-mile (12:19.3). Other winners for Swampscott were Meredith Zimmer in the javelin (81-11) and Emma Sands in the one-mile (6:27.8).
Ava Fiorino was a double-winner for Saugus, taking the 400 hurdles (1:14.9) and the 400 (1:05.9). Other winners for the Sachems were Jada Okoye in the triple jump (33-4) and Kiley Ronan in the 200 (27.8).

Winthrop’s wins came from Mary Kate Pote in the shot put (30-4), Alex Holzbach in the 400 hurdles (1:02.1) and Camilla Miranda-Llovera in the one-mile (6:26.4).

Revere got wins from Claritza Vasquez in the long jump (15-2), the triple jump (29-10 1/2) and the 200 (28.6), Olivia Novoselsky in the 800 (2:57.5) and the two-mile (13:21.3), Tarina Tran in the high jump (4-4), Valerie Moy in the discus (71-0), Gianna Mahoney in the javelin (94-9), Carolina Bettero in the 110 hurdles (17.9), Kathy Umanzor in the 400 (1:12.7) and Caroline Stasio in the one-mile (6:29.2).
