LYNNFIELD — A dog topiary. Pup-friendly ice cream. A beer garden.
MarketStreet Lynnfield announces the return of its much-loved Yappy Hour event series, which has tails wagging. The four-part celebration honors the North Shore’s furriest residents and is now in its fourth year.
MarketStreet Lynnfield will partner with local non-profit Great Dog Rescue to raise money for dogs in need and has the goal of providing 1,000 meals for hungry pups by the end of summer.
Yappy Hour will be enhanced by a beer garden from Salem’s Notch Brewing, and will take place 6-8 p.m. on May 22, June 26, July 24, and August 28 on The Green.
“Our four-legged friends are such an important and fun part of our community here at MarketStreet Lynnfield. We couldn’t be more pleased to bring Yappy Hour back for another season. Each year we look forward to hosting hundreds of wagging tails and smiling faces, and this year we are so honored to spread awareness and help Great Dog Rescue feed and care for dogs in need,” said Charlotte Woods, marketing director.
This year’s Yappy Hours will culminate with a dog topiary standing tall on The Green. The topiary will be modeled after one furry regular that is entered into MarketStreet Lynnfield’s social media contest; the Instagram polls open at the first Yappy Hour on May 22 and will run through June 26. The topiary will be unveiled at the final Yappy Hour, August 28.
Visitors will also find dog-friendly vendors, giveaways and J.P. Licks’ pup-friendly ice cream. Locally-owned pet accessory and gourmet treat purveyor PolkaDog Bakery will be on hand to help host and raise funds for Great Dog Rescue; a portion of select treat sales will benefit the organization.
Admittance to Yappy Hour is free. For the latest on Yappy Hour, visit www.marketstreetlynnfield.com. MarketStreet is located at 600 Market St.
