Police looking for suspects in West Lynn shooting

May 15, 2019 by Gayla Cawley

LYNN — Lynn Police are looking for the occupants of least two cars who were shooting at each other in West Lynn Wednesday evening. Police don’t believe the incident was random.

Initial reports indicated shots were fired out of a car at another car in the vicinity of Walnut Street by Cedar Street around 5:45 p.m., Lynn Police Lt. Dave Brown said.

But following an initial investigation, it appears that the people in both cars were firing at each other as the cars traveled between Walnut Street, Linwood and Walnut streets and Cedar Street, Brown said.

There were no reported injuries and no arrests have been made. The people involved fled the scene before police arrived, Brown said.

“This investigation remains active,” Brown said. “This dangerous encounter does not appear to be a random act, and we suspect that the parties may have known each other.”

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call the police department’s tip line at 781-477-4444. Cellphone users can also submit a tip by texting the word tiplynn with the information to tip411 or 847411.
