We all enjoy fireworks but the lead-up to fireworks and the follow up — not so much.
I suggest if you are one of those who must shoot off fireworks, do it before the major ones that are part of July 4 displays. When those fireworks are over, can we have silence, please?
Think about who is affected by fireworks:
Everyone’s pets, babies, anxious people, veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, early sleepers because of scheduling, and the police. They have important things to take care of and they may be inundated by calls when they need to take care of emergencies.
I’m sure you hadn’t thought of who your fireworks are bothering, but please consider it.
I hope the police will add patrols to places where people set off fireworks including locations around Lynn. Thank you for adding empathy to the celebration.
