Letter to the Editor: Turning a dream into a nightmare

As a native of Lynn with 46 years of military and federal government service to our country, I find it distressing that far too many politicians are reeling off the rails with their egregious failure to adequately represent U.S. citizens. Providing illegal immigrants with driver’s licenses is only a minor infraction against adequate representation.

For example, U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton claims to have brought new bipartisan leadership to Congress. His disgusting behavior obviously portrays him as just another lying politician who parrots slanderous and unjustified rhetoric that include painting our president as a racist.

For what — the shock effect of media coverage? He and his liberal resistant lawmakers are wasting precious legislative time when meaningful bipartisan work could be completed to improve our country and restore true U.S. values intended for Congress.

Among the lawmakers failing to enforce and fix the broken immigration and asylum laws that plague our southern border causing great misery to many U.S. citizens, Rep. Moulton said it’s time to move on impeaching President Trump. He is clearly on a fool’s errand along with 94 of his extreme left cohorts.

The Mueller report made no recommendation that President Trump obstructed justice and the opportunity to impeach him on charges of racism failed as 137 fellow Democrats voted against this idea that is so perilous to the unity of our nation. The resolution was tabled and failed 332 to 95.

I share the president’s passionate defense of goodness in our country when others attack it. While some may consider his tweets to be unacceptable, we should recognize that the constant destructive and divisive rhetoric from members of Congress, such as Rep. Moulton and his Squad — U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley and Rashida Tlaib — who fail to act on solving national problems, are effectively converting the American Dream into a living Nightmare.
