Beyond Walls festival culminates in Lynn on Saturday night

LYNN — Summer’s here and the time is right for dancing in the street.

Celebrate the conclusion of the 2019 Beyond Walls Street Art Festival Saturday, 6-10 p.m., at a Rock the Block party on a closed-off Mt. Vernon Street. Music, beer tents from Heineken and Bent Water Brewing, food trucks, live art and plenty of surprises are in store. The event will include entertainment by Wreck Shop Movement, a Pop-Up Print show from artists Sipros and Golden, and performances by DJ BKS, Senza Infinite, Janey David, Kiki D, Aditi, STL GLD, Cultura Latina Dance Academy and Band Land Brass Band.The event is sponsored by Beyond Walls, IronBound, Galleries at LynnArts and the Downtown Lynn Cultural District.

The galleries in the LynnArts building, 25 Exchange St., will be open. One exhibit, “higher PURPOSE,” features works by local artists. A second exhibit, curated by Fresco Exchange of Colombia, features works by Latin American artists.

Also taking place on Saturday is a guided street art tour. The 90-minute tour of murals and street art departs at noon from One Mighty Mill, 68 Exchange St. Beyond Walls staff will point out selections of the 46-piece mural collection.

The North Shore Latino Business Association will host a large sidewalk sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the PATIO parklet on Sutton Street. Attendees are encouraged to explore the downtown cultural district and enjoy all that local businesses have to offer.
