Letter to the Editor: Thank you, Good Samaritans

August 19, 2019 by the-editors

Recently I was the victim of a hit and run accident. Friday evening around dusk I was driving north down Lynn Shore Drive when a car traveling south crossed over into my lane. I maneuvered my car to avoid a head on collision but was unable to avoid contact. After causing damage the car sped down the Drive in an attempt to get away.

An off duty FedEx worker, who witnessed the crash chased down the fleeing vehicle. Police were notified and arrived on scene and took it from there.

The only positive of this experience is that there were three Good Samaritans who came to the aid of a stranger that night. Without their involvement the driver may have gotten away.

Unfortunately through all the confusion, I was unable to thank them and with the help of The Item, I’d like to thank them now and let them know how much I appreciate their kindness in assisting a fellow motorist.
