LYNN — An arrest has been made in the stabbing death of Charles Stankiewicz, 36, a homeless man from Lynn, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
Beatrice Ortiz, 34, of Lynn, was arrested at her home Monday night by Lynn Police, the Essex State Police Detective Unit and the Violent Fugitive Apprehension Unit and charged with murder, authorities said.
Stankiewicz was found stabbed and unresponsive outside 114 Union St. on Monday afternoon. He was taken to Salem Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses said the incident stemmed from an argument over money.
Ortiz is scheduled to be arraigned in Lynn District Court today.
