LYNN — Shots fired were reported Sunday near Shaw’s Court, according to Lynn Police.
Lt. Glenn Dunnigan said a female resident called before 3:30 p.m. to say she heard several gunshots in her backyard and saw four boys running through various yards and jumping fences as they fled toward Essex Street. One boy may have been shot, she told police, but Dunnigan said police could not confirm.
At the scene, about half a dozen Lynn Police officers secured the area, searched for ballistics evidence and interviewed witnesses.
“At this time, there is some evidence indicating a possible shooting near 308 Essex St.,” said Dunnigan. “The area hospitals were immediately notified. A bicycle was recovered in the street and several bullet holes were discovered on a fence and a house in that immediate area.”
Officers said one of the male juveniles may have been riding the recovered bicycle. Dunnigan said it’s possible the suspects and possible victim fled the area in a silver vehicle. A be on the lookout call went out for the vehicle. Lynn and the Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
