LYNN — A four-car crash on Lynnfield Street sent a mother and her two children to the hospital with minor injuries Thursday evening.
Lynn Fire received two calls at 4:35 p.m. regarding a serious accident near Cowdrey Avenue and Lynnfield Street, in front of Fauci’s Pizza, according to Lynn Fire Capt. Joseph Zukas. Witnesses told first responders that an unidentified man was driving an Acura down Lynnfield Street toward Wyoma Square at an extremely high rate of speed, Zukas said.
The driver began bouncing off of cars and caused a lot of damage. There are reports of at least four cars damaged in the crash, Zukas said.
“The Acura was completely demolished,” said Zukas. “The firefighters on scene said it’s amazing the guy driving it didn’t get hurt.”
Zukas said, to his knowledge, the male driver was not transported to a hospital. A mother and her children were taken in the same ambulance to Salem with minor injuries, two to the hospital emergency room and one to the MassGeneral for Children center.
