SWAMPSCOTT — A Humphrey Street crash caused a car to flip on its side early Friday morning.
A Swampscott resident was driving his Subaru Crosstrek when he looked down at his dashboard and struck a parked Jeep near 440 Humphrey St. shortly after 8:30 a.m., according to Swampscott Sgt. Jay Locke.
The impact pushed the Jeep onto the sidewalk and caused the Subaru to flip upside down, Locke said.
Michael Kelly, 34, received a summons for distracted operation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and an expired registration. His court date is not determined, said Locke.
Kelly was taken to Salem Hospital by ambulance for complaints of neck and back pain, added Locke.
The crash is still under investigation.
