The St. Mary’s golf team continued its impressive run through the regular season Tuesday, earning a 154-140 win over Catholic Conference foe Arlington Catholic at Gannon Golf Club.
Aidan Emmerich led the way in points for the Spartans with 32, while Luke Sargent was right behind with 29 points. Luke Smith added 25 points, while Rich Pagliuca put up 20 points.
St. Mary’s (8-1) is back in action Wednesday (3) against another CCL opponent — rival Bishop Fenwick — at Gannon.
GOLF
Swampscott 52, Peabody 20
At Tedesco, Swampscott’s Lou Spellios shot a team-low 39. Other top performers for the Big Blue were Aidan Graciale (7 1/2- 1 1/2) Brendan Sheehan (7-2) Aidan Tierney (9-0), Jesse McGinley (6-3), Drew Roddie (5 1/2-3 1/2) and Danny Dilisio (4 1/2-4 1/2).
Swampscott (3-2) travels to Saugus next Wednesday (4).
Peabody’s top performers were Brendan Mills, Chris Dararian and Tony Molle.
Peabody (0-5) hopes to grab its first win Wednesday (4) when the Tanners host Somerville.
BOYS SOCCER
Classical 2, Malden 1
Classical’s Jenner Robles Sandoval scored both goals in the win at Manning Field. Alex Ixlaj dished both assists.
The Rams (5-1) host Saugus Thursday (7).
Saugus 3, Winthrop 2
The Sachems built a 2-0 lead at halftime and never looked back en route to the win at Anna Parker Playground.
New Saugus coach Josh Hickey picked up his first win in the process. Vincent Coluccio, Marcel De Lima and Kyle McLaughlin scored one goal apiece.
Saugus (1-2) visits Classical Thursday (7).
Peabody 4, Swampscott 1
Kyle Joyce’s hat trick led the Tanners at Coley Lee Field. Brian Panzini scored one goal.
Cairo Dalifour dished three assists and Tyler Surman logged one assist.
Dom Cunha made eight saves.
“We scored two goals in the first two minutes of the game and I don’t think they recovered,” McKeen said. “It was a good effort.”
Also playing well for the Tanners were Bjorn Shurdha, Enco Gjorga and Ben Kemp.
“Hopefully we’re headed in the right direction,” said McKeen.
Peabody (2-2) travels to St. Mary’s Friday (3:30).
Swampscott’s Christian Urbano scored on Fernando Barranco’s assist.
