LYNN — A Lynn man was arrested for possession of heroin and a knife after fleeing the scene of a car crash early Friday morning.
Police responded to calls of a hit and run motor vehicle crash near 397 Boston St. at 12:04 a.m. on Friday, according to Lynn Lt. Michael Kmiec. When officers arrived, witnesses assisted them in locating the driver, Kmiec said.
The officers found and identified the driver as 40-year-old Pablo Colon, said Kmiec. He had 46.8 grams of heroin on him, along with the knife, he added.
Colon, of 504 Summer St., was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, operating under the influence of drugs, carrying a dangerous weapon, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of property damage, leaving the scene of personal injury, motor vehicle in felony/larceny, trafficking more than 36 grams of a class A drug, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license as an habitual traffic offender at 12:38 a.m. on Friday.
