SALEM — Members of Merry Mixers presented an $85,000 donation, representing their fundraising efforts of the past year, to MassGeneral for Children @ NSMC.

The donation will go toward the Childrens’ Courtyard, a state-of-the-art outdoor play space built for pediatric behavioral health patients.

Merry Mixers was founded in 1950 by a group of Marblehead women dedicated to supporting and enhancing the level of care for children in the community and across the North Shore. More than $1 million has been raised and donated since inception.

The organization will continue to support MassGeneral for Children @ NSMC during the 2019/2020 fiscal year. Fundraising efforts aim to provide the Pediatrics department with state-of-the-art medical equipment and training, allow for the Family Resource Center to continue vital programming and aid in the expansion and development of both the Inpatient and Outpatient Pediatric Psychiatry Service.

Nicole Connolly, Haley Foley, Diana Markowitz and Gunny Satin will join long-time committee members Nora Connerty, Rebecca Fiore, Kate Whorf, Maggie Cappiello, Kate Derr, Elizabeth Gill, Sara Glassman, Lindsey McCarthy, and Kelly Stevens in fundraising efforts.
