My name is John Chipouras and I am running for Saugus Town Meeting Member Precinct 7.
I was a Town Meeting Member Precinct 7 in the early 2000’s for two terms and a member of the Saugus Retirement Board and a Member of the Playground Commission.
I also worked in the Saugus Town Clerk’s office and when I noticed Town Hall did not have a clock on the steeple, I collected donations to have this done. It is now displayed on the Saugus Town Hall.
I have been living in Saugus for 30 Years and I am married and have two adult children who were brought up through the Saugus school system.
I spent many years officiating and coaching and I was a member of IAABO Board 130 Basketball Officials working many high school games.
I was a member of the Board of Directors for 15 years at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn.
I was the chairman of the Harry Agganis National Basketball Tournament for 17 years. I ran the tournament at a high college level. I played basketball in many Greek National Basketball Tournaments and I am proud to be in the Hall of Fame.
