Locals highlight NEC cross country all-stars, awards

Fresh from a first-place finish in the Northeastern Conference meet, Marblehead’s Loeden Rodrigues was named conference MVP as the awards and all-stars were announced Thursday.

Rodrigues was joined by teammate Nate May on the all-conference team. Two Magicians, Peter Clifford and Will Lamb, earned all-star honors. Marblehead coach Brian Heenan was named NEC Coach of the Year. 

Salem, the NEC South champion, earned the Sportsmanship Award. Beverly won the NEC North. 

The rest of the boys all-conference team includes Peabody’s Antonio Craveiro, Logan Tracia and Adam Abdulghani; Beverly’s Jackson Wood, Patrick Gilligan; Danvers’ TJ Glowik. 

The rest of the all-stars are Classical’s Kevin Baker, Max Gonzalez; English’s Adnan Jalal; Beverly’s Michael Brock, Jack Rivers, Jackson Clark; Peabody’s Jacob Farhat, Noah Christopher; Danvers’ Kevin Rodgers; Swampscott’s Dylan Brawley; Salem’s Chris Barnes, Alex Reid, Jack Fitch; Gloucester’s Harry Pelosi, Max Littman; Winthrop’s Patrick Haskell. 

The Beverly girls were well represented among their all-stars and awards. Beverly’s Heidi Eberhardt was named conference MVP and Panthers coach Dave Jellerson was named coach of the year. The Panthers also won the NEC North. Classical won the NEC South and Danvers earned the Sportsmanship Award. 

Classical’s Rachel Brennan, who finished sixth at the all-conference meet, brought home all-conference honors. The rest of the all-conference team includes Beverly’s Eberhardt, Emily Young, India Ingemi, Olivia Young and Sophia MacNeil; Marblehead’s Caroline Johnson, Tess Whalen; Peabody’s Sophia DiVasta. 

The all-stars are Classical’s Miriam Bamaca, Kenia Mejia, Mia Kebreau; English’s Lydia Splaine; Beverly’s MacNeil, Mia Kasperowicz, Kylie McCarthy; Marblehead’s Michaela Haliotis, Olivia Cleary; Danvers’ Catie Nemeskal, Olivia Viel; Peabody’s Emily MacDonald; Swampscott’s Olivia King; Winthrop’s Beatrice Holzbach, Libby Carney; Salem’s Lucy Tuttle, Sarah Cayouette-Gluckman; Gloucester’s Lillie Favazza.
