I’d like to thank everyone who participated in our Veterans Day celebration on Monday, Nov. 11.
This year we released information about Lynnfield becoming a Purple Heart town. A proclamation issued by the Board of Selectmen on Oct. 8 was read, as well as information about the future placement of “Purple Heart Community” signs as drivers enter Lynnfield.
Thank you to Town Administrator Rob Dolan, members of the Board of Selectmen, especially Chairman Phil Crawford, State Representative Brad Jones, Lynnfield’s American Legion Post 131 Honor Guard/Firing Squad, Father Paul Ritt, Pastor of Lynnfield’s Catholic Collaborative, Marine Veteran John (Jason) Kimball and his son Jack, the High School and Middle School bands, and Lynnfield’s first responders.
Thanks to the Department of Public Works, Pat from Mastrorilli’s Catering, and Linda Gillon of the Lynnfield Historical Society. Thanks to the Lynnfield Girl Scout Daisy Troop 67136, along with their sister Girl Scout Troop 82559 for their singing of America The Beautiful and God Bless America.
A special thanks to my wife, Candy, for helping to set up the luncheon and for taking some great photographs, and to my friend Lou Trapasso, who helped with the setup of the Meeting House. And finally, thanks to the many veterans and residents of our great town who attended.
God bless you all, and God bless our veterans.
