I am writing to complain about Zipcar and how they can just leave a car anywhere and walk away. Where I live parking is at a premium. During the latest snow emergency someone parked a Zipcar where I normally park. There was no problem until they called a snow emergency.
The car was left there by a driver. It got three tickets on it and the city had to plow around it.
There was a snow bank at least four feet out from the curb and frozen solid taking up three parking spaces. I called Zipcar every day for three days and explained that I am disabled and could they please remove car?
They apologized and said they would remove it — surprise it was still there. I called again and got the same response. The car is still there. All the police can do is let the tickets build up enough to tow it. Zipcar actually suggested I tow it at my expense and they will reimburse me. What a joke. Meanwhile I’m disabled and have to park a street over. Once the car is finally removed who is going to move the frozen snow bank?
